English is the language of career opportunities. The TOEIC 4-Skills certification allows you to:

  • validate the level of English required by an organization in order to obtain a diploma or certified training
  • improve your employability by standing out from other candidates during an internal or international mobility project, during a job search or with a view to a promotion.

The test questions reflect real-life situations specific to the working world.

  • Listening comprehension: 45 questions in 25 minutes
  • Oral expression: 5 tasks in 20 minutes
  • Reading comprehension: 45 questions in 37 minutes
  • Written expression: 3 tasks in 60 minutes

  • Respond to a written request
  • Write an essay (300 words minimum)

Please note that there are no penalty points for incorrect answers in the multiple choice section. 

TOEIC Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing test sessions are organized throughout the year in our Public Program test centers throughout Germany. 

Check the session dates offered by each center and register directly here. Depending on your availability and location, you can easily find a public testing center near you.

Please note that you will need to upload a passport-style photo before the day of the test as it will appear on your results certificate.

If you are taking an English course or are a student, your training organization, school, or university may offer you the opportunity to take the test as part of your studies or training. In this case, we invite you to contact your institution to find out how to register.

On the day of the test, please bring :

  • a valid form of identification bearing your name and signature
  • your admission form
  • a consent form for candidates under 18, completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Without the completed consent form, you will not be admitted to the testing room. Download the consent form

On the day of the test, you will be required to sign an intake form, which will be provided to you either in advance via email during the registration process or on-site by test center staff. This intake form is required to take the test and will be collected by test center staff at the end of the test session.

The TOEIC 4-Skills test is not a pass or fail test. Regardless of your level, you will receive a certificate of achievement showing your score for each of the four skills.

Results scale

  • The Listening and Reading sections are marked from 4 to 495 points each.
  • The total of the Listening and Reading sections is marked from 10 to 990 points.
  • The Speaking and Writing sections are graded from 0 to 200 points each.
  • Each result is correlated with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR), from level A1 to level C1. Download the correspondence grid.

Validity of your results

  • The results are valid for 2 years.
  • The Public Program results certificate is valid worldwide. 
  • The results can be viewed via the QR code on your digital results certificate, which you can share with a recruiter, employer, educational manager or admissions officer.
  • The results of the Listening and Reading sections are equivalent to the scores of the TOEIC Listening and Reading test. 
  • The results of the Speaking and Writing sections are equivalent to the scores of the TOEIC Speaking and Writing test.
